Yo yo, Bryan and Pete here. Recently, it's occurred to us that the people we know, the places we go, and things we do can be pretty interesting. So before it all gets lost to our burnt-out memories, we've decided to capture some of it, in the form of a podcast TV show we can share with everyone. We'll be making this up as we go along, but we have some rough ideas on how we'll structure the show. When Harley-Davidson hired the two of us as web-TV correspondents to cover bike rallies (Bike Week, Sturgis) some of it turned out kinda funny, so we'll be taking a couple of those same ideas, like the roving "man on the street" questioning/interviewing strangers, maybe some skits, who knows?

But, as much as an announcement, this is a call for suggestions. Take a second and watch the video below to grab the e-mail to contact us. You can also link back to the YouTube page and leave comments on the video if you have an account. We want to know what you guys want to see from us. So, hit us up, let us know, and keep an eye out for "2BudsTV".

Hi everybody, and greetings from tour! We're down here soaking up the sun in Australia, and thought this would be a good time to drop a line to all our friends out there. Australia's warm, the people are nice and everything's great, but our minds keep returning to the upcoming "Home For The Holidays" shows. We're making some cool plans for the three-night stand at the Stone Pony. Here's the story: a while back we had you the fans vote for your favorite Souls songs. Consequently, we ended up with a sort of "top 40" list. We will be counting down that list in order, from #40 to #1 (20 songs each night) on the 28th and 29th. For the 27th (first night), we will be playing a mix of 20 other fuckin awesome Souls songs. That's right, 60 DIFFERENT SONGS IN THREE NIGHTS! Wow. And who knows, maybe we'll even play more. We could ya know. The tickets are already selling fast so treat yourself or a loved one to a great holiday gift.

Yo What's up everybody!
Pete and I have just emerged from the studio. No, it's not a new Souls record unfortunately, but it's it's us doing what we do best. In case you haven't heard, Pete and I are now PRODUCERS. That's right, together with Bob Strakele, Pete and I have just produced the new record from the Loved Ones. It's badass, this band is full of hope, and with our help, something great was born, worth checking out! In other news, Souls are playing a week of shows coming right up, should be nothing but badass! It's been a great summer, and we're looking forward to fall's crisp weather and new days. Last month the New Jersey Punk Community lost a dear friend, Zack Finch. So many people cared about him and are trying to help his family in their time of need. They asked us to help. It's not a situation where you feel like there's anything you can do besides let them all know that you care and raise some money so they at least don't have to think about that.

We're going to auction off two pairs of tickets to the August 18th Court Tavern show with The Bouncing Souls/Lifetime/The Ergs/Static
Radio NJ to the highest bidder. This is the hottest ticket in town (and probably the hottest, sweatiest show ever...) and for a good cause...so dig deep and show your Jersey pride.

Here are the links to the auctions:
AUCTION 1 | AUCTION 2
Auctions end Saturday August 18th.

Hi everyone, we're home from yet another trip abroad! The UK/Scotland/Ireland leg of the Gold Tour is behind us, leaving nothing but great memories.

As we Bouncing Souls settle into home life, my thoughts might naturally be turning to my next big bike run, and by some incredible stroke of luck (or genius) I will be joined by my best friend The Pete, and the whole thing will be sponsored by none other the Harley Davidson! March 1st- crack of dawn, I will set out on the old shovel, riding a chilly 1,000+ miles straight down from my New York City home to Daytona Florida. There Pete will meet me (riding whatever bike the HD folks have around for him) and from March 3rd through March 9th, Pete and I will run amuck in search of good times (basically do what we do whenever we're together) at the annual motorcycle rally known as Bike Week. Each night we will do our best to record our experiences (mishaps) in words and pictures for their website.

So check it out:
www.harley-davidson.com/daytona

There should be a new post every night for the duration of the rally. First of course my old bike and I have to make it down in one piece! Haha. ~Bryan

P.S. Bouncing Souls will be on Fearless Music TV in NYC this Saturday night, March 3rd, performing "Gone". Fearless Music TV is on Saturday nights at 1am on Fox 5 in NYC, and if you are not in NYC, check out the time and channel listing on our website at www.fearlessmusic.tv/channels.html to find out when and where else it airs.

We have been hearing a lot of rumors and headlines about our recent UK tour and the situation with local bands and we wanted to clear up things from our end. Back in november we decided to come to the UK and Ireland for a 2-week tour and we invited our old friends from THE DRAFT to join us. In addition, we thought it would be cool to have a package tour and had met TAT on Warped Tour in the US last summer and asked them if they wanted to rock with us. We understand that in a lot of places there might be cool local bands to play with (and this is what we have done the last 10 years....) but we just wanted to try something new. The tour was booked this way with every promoter, but in some places the promoters did not read the tour agreements and asked local bands to play...only to cancel them later. We agree, this sucks...but we would never have asked for a local band to be dropped from a show once they were asked. this was all done without our knowledge. The only place that we became aware of the situation was in Liverpool (and extra apologies go out to the DOWN AND OUTS, who we hear are totally great) but there have been some suggestions that it might have happenned elsewhere. The only stop we were aware of this happening was in Brighton, where the promoter told us ahead of time that he had asked a local band to play before he read the agreement and we let them play.

We have been misrepresented and for any resulting disappointments, we apologize.

Winter has finally arrived, for a minute there it looked like NY/NJ would stay in the 60's and 70's right through to Spring thanks to global- warming's unpredictable weather changes.  January was the month of weird  weather and weird one-off's.  Sundance Film Festival, the Punk Rock Bowling Tournament, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were all unique gig experiences.

The Warped tour exhibit and show at the Rock Hall of fame was an amazing experience in so many ways. There we all were in glass cases next to Jimi Hendrix, Les Paul, The Clash, Elvis, James Brown, The  Ramones and all the rest of the Rock 'N' Roll originals.  Wow! The acknowledgement of the Warped Tour at the Rock Hall is so great  because the tour itself is a true original.  It is not something of  the past but something that is alive and rocking today. Music isn't  meant to be locked up in a museum because its living in us all right now!  Thanks to everyone at the Rock Hall for supporting the music of today by supporting a great music festival of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The only thing we would have added to the exhibit would be a  tribute to Fran, Kevin Lymans wife, and the unsung ladies that made shit happen. To everybody who has made the Warped Tour possible: We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we're glad to have been along  for the ride! Also, we did an episode with Pennywise for Steven's Untitled Rock Show which will air on Fuse on February 14th at 7pm so you can see for yourselves!!

Now it's time to pack again for another tour already.  People of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, get ready to come out and singaway those winter blues, cuz we're on our way!  Looking forward to  having a blast "across the pond" with our friends The Draft and England's Tat.  Seeyou out there!  Also, check out this link for our contest with Radio 1!

12.16.06

We've added two shows before we leave for the UK. We'll be playing Suede on January 18th in Park City, UT during Sundance and January 19th at the Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas, NV with Dillenger Four, Strike Anywhere, and Nothington. Tickets for the Vegas show can be ordered here! And don't forget about the NYC and Atlantic City shows on the 28th and 29!

11.15.06

11.07.06

Hi everybody and greetings from the road. We're making history every night out here and having a blast. Here's one account by our friend Barspinner who came out to Anaheim House of Blues the other night:

"Man, have I got a crazy story about your show. So here is how it starts, I am on the 2nd floor watching the band before you and I sneak into upstairs V.I.P. Ok, no biggie. Then I sneak into a sound room, starting to get scketchy, I am detremined to get on stage and do a stage dive. Side note, I got on the Glasshouse DVD doing a dive. Relive the glory years, ya know. So I drop a metal rope style ladder, scale down when the band before you goes to black, I hide behind the curtain behind the drums. The drum tech even grabbed the curtain like what the fuck is behind this. I send some text messages saying watch for me during the first song. Bam, 20 seconds into it I pull up the curtain behind McDermott and fly into the crowd. I am a six six ninja. Later Greg rocked my dvs hat for a few songs. Then I tried to get on stage, got shit slammed hard by the bouncers all the way out the back door. One of them was pushng me backwards then ran backwards holding onto him, did a 180 and smashed him. They went for the beat down after that. I some how managed to squirm away. I went to a bar in downtown Disney for a shot of Jager and a Budweiser to cool off then went and walked in the front and watched the rest of the show low key. I think it was a full moon"
-Spinner

10.31.06

Happy Halloween!

10.21.06

GREETINGS FROM THE GOLD TOUR!
We're a week in and the tour has taken on a life of it's own. All the bands have really bonded, and in a way merged into one gang, the jokes are flyin' and great new friendships have been made. Check it out- we've been playing THE PIZZA SONG most nights so far but are really missing that little trumpet part, as we have no trumpet player on the road with us. SO... If any of you kids out there know and can play this part on a trumpet, just show up a couple hours before doors open and we'll try you out in sound check. (We'll even provide a trumpet if you don't have one.) If it goes well, we'd love to bring you on stage to play it with us. Sure the gig doesn't pay much, free admission for you and a friend, maybe a couple beers or whatever. Hey while we're at it, any accordion players out there?

MANIACAL LAUGHTER!
Yo, we're also celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the release of Maniacal Laughter, our second CD (released in 1996). So dig this we're gonna play the record from end to end on certain nights. WE'll do it on the SECOND NIGHT in SEATTLE (10/29). Chances are we'll be doing this on the second night of any city we're playing twice in a row; like SF, Orlando, Denver.
Aaw yeah!

10.17.06

This is why we love Johnny X. Just got this letter today from him, after a great record release party:

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say thanks again for a great week of memorable moments. I'd like to be able to write something to describe how great the show last night was, but words fail me. Really. I suppose that's why we have music, and there's no use in verbalizing some things.

I've been following the reaction to your new record since it was leaked. It's been interesting to read peoples' comments. The majority of course seem to love it straight away. Other people have started out saying they hate it, and have slowly changed their tunes. The general reaction from that crowd seems to be "this isn't what I expected". I can't understand how something being what you'd expect could be a good thing. Seems boring and predictable to me. To me it sounds like a Souls record. It ain't ELO for chrissakes. I think last night made classics of every song on it, at least for the people who were there.

Anyway, I know it gets sticky for a band, but I've never believed that it's an artist's job to give the people what they want. It's not our job to maintain things as they are. It's our job to be on the frontier and push and to send back reports of what we find there, whether the folks back home want to hear the news or not. There's no going back to your first record or second record anymore than you can go back to 15. There's as little point in making that record again as there'd be in going back to high school. There's nothing to learn about life there anymore. Life is in front of us. An artist isn't someone who drags a brush across a canvas, or writes a song or dance or whatever. An artist is someone who comes back from a dream or a nightmare and tells us what they saw.

There's no greater message to send back to anyone than to say Do What You Love. It negates violence, dissolves corporations, dispels doubt, breaks chains, renders hate irrelevant.

Good luck out there this summer.
See you soon,
X

Tonight is our last night of our six day stint at NYC's Knitting Factory. We'd like to thank all the kids and all the opening bands for being a part of our week long record release party. We have two Philly shows coming and then we hit the road with the 2006 Warped Tour all summer long.

Enjoy the new site, check out the new tunes, drop us a line on the guestboard, sign our mailing list, look at pictures, talk shit on the message board, find out when we're coming to your town, and be sure to stay tuned for more as things begin to heat up this summer!
